Kvarkenfest aims to become an important gathering place for visitors and residents all over the Kvarken. With that comes a responsibility for both people and the environment.
We want to make a positive impact on society and we believe that on top of music and culture, the festival area offers an excellent arena for interaction. At the same time, we as festival organizers and our partners want to pay great attention to sustainability issues.
Gender equality is our priority both on and behind the scenes. It affects the festival arrangements from artist lineup to choosing our partners. It is of great importance that the audience, staff, and artists feel welcome at Kvarkenfest. Audience culture should radiate positivity, warmth, joy, and consideration for others.
Kvarkenfest wants to leave a lasting, positive imprint on society, and we are convinced that culture has a positive impact on all of us. For this reason the festival ticket has only a symbolic price, as Kvarkenfest is a festival for everyone.
It is important to us that diverse cultural expressions from the Kvarken region are given space at and in connection with Kvarkenfest. In this way, we take social responsibility for the region and its cultural heritage.
We want to contribute to our region’s social sustainability in other ways as well. Organizing Kvarkenfest wouldn’t be possible without sports clubs that raise money for their activities by working during the festival. We are happy that Kvarkenfest can in this way help the local clubs.
The Kvarken’s unique natural heritage has Kvarkenfest’s heart. Respect for nature and environmental awareness are the cornerstones of our festival organization. Kvarkenfest and the festival’s organizer, the Kvarken Council EGTC, actively strive to find new ways to reduce the festival’s climate footprint.
Among other things, we aim to choose local suppliers for our equipment and technology in order to avoid long transports and reduce the environmental impact.
We take environmental matters into account also when choosing other partners. We advocate the use of environmentally friendly technology and fuels, and we strive to support actors who work to protect the environment.
